Situated on a hill, at an altitude of 809 meters, in the foothills of Serra da Estrela, stands the ancient medieval castle of Linhares. Its towers, seen from afar, have the grandeur of firm watchtowers, molded into the granite of the Serra, whose mountains serve as a backdrop.
